Body Plate Codes - 1964 through 1967

Codes are listed by group and in alphabetical order within the group. Codes listed are for all 1964 Chevelle body styles so some would naturally not apply to the El Camino. Codes on trim tags are not shown in alphabetical order but they do have an order of precedence when used.

| (1) The Factory Assembly Instruction Manual shows both RPO Z01 and RPO Z19 as Comfort & Convenience Groups but neither GM's Accumulative Production Report nor Options and Accessories When Installed By Chevrolet list RPO Z01, only RPO Z19. The Factory Assembly Instruction Manual shows all items under Z01 as being transferred to Z19 so only RPO Z19 is listed. | |

If you have any codes to donate to this cause (or find any here that are incorrect), please contact me specifying the model year, group number and letter designation. It's reported that some plants used different option code letters for the same option. Also, only Atlanta, Flint, Framingham, Kansas City, and Van Nuys used these codes on the body plate; Baltimore and Fremont did not.
